Who are you?

I’m Bill Briscoe, a retired business owner.

Where do you live?

Canyon, Texas, in the Panhandle part of the state. Fifteen miles east of my house is Palo Duro Canyon, the second largest canyon in the United State. Each summer since 1965, the musical "Texas" is performed in an outdoor amphitheater at the base of the canyon.

The play brings in visitors from around the world. That’s our claim to fame around here.

What’s your home life like?

I live with my wife of forty-nine years. We moved to Canyon when I retired. When our daughters lived at home, we raised dogs, cats, and albino frogs.

What genre(s) to you like to write? To read?

My first book is contemporary fiction. I decided to take the characters from that book to write a mystery series. Now I’m writing books for the series.

I like to read James Patterson and Harlan Coben, but non-fiction is high on my list.

Why did you start writing?

I had a story in mind for several years before I retired. When I finally had some free time, I knew I wanted that story to become a book.

What do you do when you’re not writing?

I exercise four or five days a week. I like to attend college athletic events. My young granddaughter plays golf, and I try to catch some of her tournaments. I travel to Dallas to see my grandson.

Where do you like to go when looking for a new book to read?

I usually go to Amazon or visit a local bookstore.

At what point do you call it quits when reading a new book?

If a book is too wordy or lacks clarity, I put it aside.

Are you independently or traditionally published?

I’m independently published.

How many books/stories have you published so far?

Two. The first book is contemporary fiction titled Pepperman’s Promise-prequel to The Pepperman Mystery Series. Perplexity, Book One-The Pepperman Mystery Series, is the second book.

What book/story are you currently promoting or working on?

I’m on the final stages of Panic Point, Book Two of The Pepperman Mystery Series.

As soon as this book is out, I'm going to put the mystery series on Audible.

What’s the elevator pitch?

When Earl’s wife disappears in the Smoky Mountain on their honeymoon, the former Navy Seal believes she’s been abducted. It’s up to him to find her in time.

How long have you been working on it?

I’ve been working on it about a year. Since the setting is the Smoky Mountains, I took two trips to Tennessee for research.

When will it be available to buy? Where?

My plan is to have it for sale in January, 2019, on Amazon, Barnes and Noble, KOBO, and I-Books.

How can readers find you?
