What’s your home life like?

I have two married daughters and a grandson. My empty nest includes my husband and Maltese dog. I almost forgot to mention my dwarf bunny, Thumper, who was left behind by my daughter.

What genre(s) do you like to write? To read?

I enjoy reading mystery, suspense, and romance. So far, I've written a series in paranormal suspense.

Why did you start writing?

Since I was ten years old, I've been an avid reader. My brother read Agatha Christie, Erle Stanley Gardener, and Alistair Maclean. Those were the books that began my foray into the world of mystery and suspense.

Ten years ago, I was searching for books in the paranormal mystery genre. I found a few, but they didn't have enough mystery or suspense. I decided to write a book. Thus, the birth of The Dead Game Series.
The first book, The Dead Game, has dead bodies and clues. It takes place in a small, coastal town in Florida. Book two, Prey for The Dead, extends the mystery and suspense to Disney World, where vampires run an exclusive club, a club based on an actual club created by Walt Disney. The third book, The Dead At Heart, takes my characters to Quebec and a showdown between vampires.

What do you do when you’re not writing?

When I'm not writing and promoting, which can take ten hours a day, I swim or shop. Since the quarantine, my activities have been limited. I now write most of my waking hours.

Where do you like to go when looking for a new book to read?

I order used books online. I love the feeling of holding a book in my hands.

At what point do you call it quits when reading a new book?

Most books I give a chance until the midpoint. Sometimes, I force myself to complete the story, hoping it improves. I've deserted books after a chapter or two if there is excessive violence or blood that I find disquieting.

Are you independently or traditionally published?

I'm an indie author.

How many books/stories have you published so far?

I've written the three books in The Dead Game Series and poetry.

What book/story are you currently promoting or working on?

I've recently completed the third book in the series, The Dead At Heart. It was released a week ago.

What’s the elevator pitch?

As a new enemy descends on Oasis, Florida, Shana turns to Sheriff Sam, who broke her heart. Can she trust the human-vampire?

This begins Shana’s journey to fight vampires and werewolves with Sam at her side.

An explosion at Chateau Frontenac in Quebec doesn’t stop Shana and her friends from saving their town, and maybe even the world.

How long have you been working on it?

The book took me a year to write, then another half a year to edit and have it proofread.

When will it be available to buy? Where?

It is available now.

How can readers find you?

What inspires you to keep writing?

I can shake off everything as I write; my sorrows disappear, my courage is reborn
Anne Frank
Not until we are lost do we begin to understand ourselves
Henry David Thoreau

Anything you’d like to add?

Thank you for taking the time to read my story.

Many thanks to Susanne Leist for participating in My Laughably Inane Blog. I wish her all the best with the Dead Games series and all her professional and personal endeavors.
