Who are you?

My name is Mark Tedesco and I am educator by profession and an author by passion.

Where do you live

I live in Los Angeles now; before this I lived in Rome, Italy and Washington DC.

What’s your home life like?

My home life....I am a gay man with a partner and we have a pretty stable life since we both enjoy being homebodies and traveling. That may seem like a contradiction but it works!

What genre(s) do you like to write? To read?

I enjoy historical fiction, both writing and reading, and I am mostly drawn to the ancient world of Rome, Greece and Egypt. But I am also interested in world literature.

Why did you start writing?

I started writing to organize my own thoughts and feelings about being in a Vatican seminary in the 1980s. It was meant to be sort of a diary but ended up getting published! It is called "That Undeniable Longing: My Journey to and from the Priesthood". After that, I continued to write.

What do you do when you’re not writing?

I teach high school kids, I go to the gym and I enjoy my free time with my partner.

Where do you like to go when looking for a new book to read?

I love going to independent bookstores to find a new book to read.

At what point do you call it quits when reading a new book?

When it doesn't capture my attention after the first 10-15 pages.

Are you independently or traditionally published?

Both; my first book was published traditionally and then I've published Indie also.

How many books/stories have you published so far?

I have 5 books published and one I am working on now.

What book/story are you currently promoting or working on?

"The Dog on the Acropolis" is my latest work, which combines a historical novel with two canine protagonists.

What’s the elevator pitch?

"The Dog on the Acropolis" chronicles the adventures of a dog living on the Acropolis who forms transforming relationships with humans. Whenever the dog, Drago, falls asleep, the reader is transported to ancient Greece, when the Parthenon was being built and another dog, Draco's ancestor, lived on that spot.

How long have you been working on it?

It took me two years to produce the manuscript but the story came to me like a flash while I was walking up the Acropolis.

When will it be available to buy? Where?

It is available now on Amazon and any fine bookstore.

How can readers find you?

Anything you’d like to add?

This story came to me like an inspiration, which is how I write all my books. I do not calculate what a reader might want or an audience might find popular. The stories come to me already complete, and that is pretty exciting.

Many thanks to Mark Tedesco for participating in My Laughably Inane Blog. I wish him all the best in his personal and professional endeavors.

Just a small-town boy with an overactive imagination.
