Author Interview with Bithi Paul

Who are you?

I am Bithi Paul, a person who loves to write. And read, of course.

Where do you live?

I live in Bangladesh.

What’s your home life like?

Well, I am a quiet (I am not using the word "introvert") person. I feed pegions and birds that visit my home. I also like to spend time in my little garden.

What genre(s) do you like to write? To read?

I like to write Young Adult and New Adult fiction mixed with Romance. I also like to present a psychological point of view.

I read almost all the genres, excluding Horror.

Why did you start writing?

I love to read stories from my childhood. As I mentioned before, I am a quiet person. And, books make good friends. So, I know that there are other people like me for whom reading books is not a way of passing time, rather spending time with friends.

I started writing to provide some friends to those people as other authors did (and are still doing) for me.

What do you do when you’re not writing?

I read when I am not writing. Ha ha. Well, I listen to songs, watch movies and click photos nature.

Where do you like to go when looking for a new book to read?

I usually go to a library and buy books. I often skim the entire first chapter before choosing a book.

At what point do you call it quits when reading a new book?

Quit reading a book? That is a sacrilege for me!

I never quit reading a book, even if I do not quite enjoy it, until the end. Alright, I did quit reading a book or two as those were absolutely boring. But, exceptions are not examples.

Are you independently or traditionally published?

I am independently published. I did not have the patience and funds to find a literary agent. And, most publishing houses require the authors to be represented by an agent. So, I chose to independently publish. But, I want to try the traditional way for my next book.

How many books/stories have you published so far?

I have published three books so far. All are available on Amazon and free on Kindle Unlimited.

What book/story are you currently promoting or working on?

I am not promoting my project right now as I am still outlining the story line. It is another Young Adult Fiction.

What’s the elevator pitch?

It is really difficult to pitch a project that has not been even first drafted.

Still, I am trying.

"A teen-aged girl with a normal life meets with an accident that changes her life.

A teen-aged boy has to find out if the beauty is only skin deep."

How long have you been working on it?

A few weeks.

When will it be available to buy? Where?

I cannot specify when it will be published. But, if I independently publish, it will be available on Amazon.

How can readers find you?

What inspires you to keep writing?

"We all die. The goal isn’t to live forever, the goal is to create something that will."
Chuck Palahniuk

Anything you’d like to add?

I always wanted to thank my favorite authors for providing me with such good book friends. But, they are too many to name. So, thanks to all the authors.

Many thanks to Ms. Paul for participating in My Laughably Inane Blog. I wish her all the best in her personal and writing endeavors.
